Here are 5 key strategies you can implement to increase revenue and improve the bottom line of your facility: - [Outsourcing to Simplify and Maximize Revenues for Behavioral Health Facilities in Utah](https://www.buieinsure.com/outsourcing-to-simplify-and-maximize-revenues-for-behavioral-health-facilities-in-utah/): As a behavioral health facility owner, you are responsible for providing high-quality care to your patients while also managing the day-to-day operations of your facility. However, this can be a challenging task, especially when it comes to managing the administrative tasks that come with running a facility. From billing and insurance claims to human resources and compliance, these tasks can be time-consuming and divert your attention away from providing the best care for your patients. - [How outsourcing crucial HR/Payroll/Benefit tasks leads to more profit for auto dealerships](https://www.buieinsure.com/how-outsourcing-crucial-hr-payroll-benefit-tasks-leads-to-more-profit-for-auto-dealerships/): Many things keep an auto dealership owner up at night; inventory issues, chip shortages, flooring costs, employee retention/acquisition, customer satisfaction, cut throat competition etc. The list goes on and on. HR/Payroll and Benefits is an area that should not be keep you up at night. Properly handling and potentially outsourcing this department to a PEO (Professional Employer Organization) could provide many benefits for your bottom line and sleep. It could free up department heads of menial tasks, allowing them to think more strategically. Also, money could be saved by not having to hire employees to manage payroll/HR/benefits. Support in this department can be custom tailored to your needs as an auto dealership owner, so you can sleep well at night and focus on growing your business instead of working in your business. Freeing up HR/payroll/benefit specialists from menial tasks allows for more strategic and creative thinking. This in turn can improve morale and efficiencies in these areas. Once morale and efficiencies are improved managers can devote more time to actually fulfilling their job responsibilities rather than getting bogged down with administrative tasks. Efficiency and creative thinking in these areas ultimately lead to happier employees and more profit. PEO stands for Professional Employer Organization. As a co-employer of your dealership and employees of other businesses, PEO’s are able to negotiate cheaper health insurances rates due to the large number of employees in their pool. They also are able to lower health insurance costs by setting up their own self funded plan with stop loss coverage. Under the PEO model, your company taxes etc. are filed under the PEO’s EIN. This provides the PEO an interest in keeping your dealership HR/payroll/benefits compliant. They have a mutual interest in keeping these areas nice, tidy and compliant as their EIN is on the line. Some dealerships take full advantage of this relationship by completely outsourcing all payroll, HR and benefits to the PEO. Dealerships doing this are able to save a lot by not having to hire employees to manage and work in these departments. As mentioned earlier, the PEO can custom tailor their support in each of these areas to best suit each dealership’s needs. - [Why risk management on the health insurance side is so important for auto dealerships.](https://www.buieinsure.com/why-risk-management-on-the-health-insurance-side-is-so-important-for-auto-dealerships/): Risk management is a term usually thought of when dealing with liability or worker’s compensation insurance. It’s usually not brought up or thought of when dealing with group health insurance. Risk management in general yields fruits in most aspects of life and business. The same can be said for implementing risk management in your group health insurance strategy. Doing so yields many benefits; group health insurance renewals remain low and steady year after year, year end claim surplus can be used to lower following year rates/costs or used to increase employer premium contribution, making employees think twice before leaving. How is it possible to keep health insurance renewals steady year after year when medical care inflation is at an all time high? Auto dealerships that have implemented a self funded with stop loss strategy have been able to do so. The self funded plan chassis allows for cost control, risk management and potential claim surplus. This is a long-term strategy. A good broker and third-party administrator (TPA) are needed for effective plan set up and administration. Self funded with stop loss plans have gained popularity over the last couple years. Many benefits brokers and third-party administrators are able to implement and run these plans effectively. It’s rare however to find anyone that effectively implements risk management into the day to day management of these plans, reducing overall claim exposure. Effective risk management enhances all the fore mentioned benefits of self funding; year end claim surplus is substantial, renewals remain steady and are likely to decline.  Managing risk inside a self funded medical plan legally and effectively can be tricky. Not many TPA’s nor brokers are set up to do so. As mentioned earlier, dealerships who have implemented a self funded with stop loss strategy have been able to gain cost control over health insurance costs. Dealerships that have implemented this strategy along with risk management have been able to go above and beyond gaining just cost control. It’s worth researching and selecting the proper broker who can quarterback this effort and who understands how auto dealerships function. The benefits of doing so are substantial, yielding long-term fruits and savings year after year. - [How can auto dealerships enhance employee benefit offerings, attracting and retaining employees, while saving money year after year?](https://www.buieinsure.com/how-can-auto-dealerships-enhance-employee-benefit-offerings-attracting-and-retaining-employees-while-saving-money-year-after-year%ef%bf%bc/): Employee benefit expenses are amongst the most costly for many dealerships. Managing these expenses should be top priority for any owner wanting to increase his/her bottom line. Attracting and retaining top talent is also crucial for growing revenue. How can dealership owners both enhance their benefit package, attracting and retaining top talent, while saving money year after year? Something gaining popularity over the last couple years, ”self-funded with stop-loss insurance" aka "partial self-funded plans”, is what some dealerships have implemented successfully. Traditionally these plans were available only to employers with over 500 employees. Recently stop-loss insurers have seen the need and opportunity in the below 500 employee, employer market, making these plans available to businesses with at least 20 employees. This gives small to medium size dealerships opportunity to gain control over benefit spend.  In a nut shell these plans allow dealerships to self fund claims for each covered individual up to a specific dollar amount (specific deductible), usually $40k-70k. Once claims accrue past the specific deductible for any covered individual, stop-loss insurance kicks in to cover the rest. Under these plans "aggregate coverage” is also in force to hedge your overall plan year spend. Traditionally a third party administrator facilities underwriting, plan set up and administration. To the employee the plan feels and acts like a traditional, fully insured plan. Dealership coverage needs and desires are different. Self funded plans can be custom tailored to each dealership, from benefit design to hospital network utilization. If set up and managed correctly, these plans yield claim surplus most years. The surplus can be used as desired, lowering benefit costs, enhancing benefit offerings, taken as profit or used for 401k match/contribution etc. Success is amplified when claims and risk are actively managed. Effective claim and risk management is hard to come by. Partnering with an experienced broker and third party administrator who both understand claim and risk management is crucial to running a successful self funded plan. - [July 2017 Legal Update](https://www.buieinsure.com/july-2017-legal-update/): JULY 31, 2017: PCORI Fee Due for Self-Insured Plans Employers who sponsor self-funded plans are responsible for submitting the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (“PCORI”) fee and accompanying paperwork to the IRS no later than July 31, 2017. - [News & Information](https://www.buieinsure.com/wordpress-resources-at-siteground/): We know that with the many changes that are going to be taking place under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that things can become overwhelming and we are anxious to help you through it.
